Angels & Cowboys excels at blending Sonoma fruit sourced from the County’s best growers. Their 2017 is incredible value, not a wine to miss. Sonoma County is blanketed by a tapestry of exceptional vineyards. The winemaking team tracks down singular lots of fruit that hail the subtleties of Sonoma sub-regions, from Carneros to the distinction of Sonoma Valley, the refinement of the Russian River Valley to the abundance of flavour found in the Dry Creek and Alexander Valleys.
There’s no denying it: this is a big, bold, soulful, flavourful wine. Richly concentrated, juicy, and dense with woodland berries, ripe dark cherry, bergamot, and fig, the wine is accentuated dark chocolate and barrel spice. The palate is all mouth-filling body and silky texture. Nicely integrated new and old French oak accentuate the layers of spicy dark fruit. The finish is long and decadent.
The 2017 has yet to be reviewed by the press, but the 2016 received the following:
“A fantastic explosion of ripe damson and juicy cherries supported by delicious rich chocolate, coffee, black pepper, and sweet spice. Smooth, elegant, and voluptuous with a rich fruit finish.”
