A dry rosé, this is one of those rare birds that can stand alone on a hazy summer night or play well with a range of dishes year round. A blend based around hand-harvested Sonoma County Grenache, it definitely speaks with a French accent. Fruit was whole-cluster pressed with little skin contact to minimize colour extraction and maintain delicacy. Following a long, cool fermentation the finished wine aged sur lie for a little over two months prior to bottling.
This rosé is a classic “Oeil de Perdrix” shade, the colour of a Champagne diamond. The delicate nose shows aromas of mandarin and wildflowers. The palate is lively and racy with flavours of tart cherries and pomegranate. There’s a vibrant acidity and freshness to the mid-palate, and a delicate minerality through the finish. This is a winning wine to pour with or without food. (Should you choose to pair it, you can’t miss with roast chicken, peppery salads, seared tuna, or any style of sushi.)
“Dry, refreshing, and lively with bright, crisp acidity; a first-class rosé at an excellent price.”
