“This is a rich wine, even from the normally austere Les Clos vineyard. Minerality is here, but it is surrounded by sumptuous ripe white fruits that have intense youthful acidity. It is a great wine that needs to age further, so drink from 2021.”

“The 2016 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru has a tightly wound bouquet with crushed stone, linseed oil and light beeswax aromas, the latter becoming more and more pronounced with aeration. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, fresh and taut with a grippy, saline finish that suggests it will require two or three years to find its complete harmony.”

“The 2016 Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos reveals aromas of lemon oil, waxy citrus rind, nutmeg and subtle new oak. On the palate, it’s full-bodied, textural and chalky, with good depth and chewy extract, but without the completeness and dimension of a great vintage. It’s a Clos that will drink well with just a year or two of bottle age.”
