The sec (dry) wines of the Loire are considered to be a pure expression of the best of both Chenin Blanc and the terroir of the Vouvray region. At Domaine Huet, grapes are grown according to biodynamic principles, then harvested and meticulously sorted by hand. Each cuvée shows a precise expression of the Domaine’s soils.
The soil in Huet’s Le Mont vineyard is pebbly and consists mainly of green-coloured clay and silica. The wines produced in this vineyard are traditionally elegant and poised. Vinified in the purest tradition of the house, the chiseled mineral flint of the Le Mont vineyard comes through on the nose and the palate.
“A shy nose is followed by rich, weighty peach and apple fruit balanced by taut, slatey minerality and zippy acidity. It’s serious and pure-fruited, with great power and structure.”
