LCBO Vintages Release
Duckhorn’s “Decoy” Pinot Noir highlights a distinctly plush and approachable expression crafted from Sonoma County fruit.
2017 began with an abundance of winter rain, followed by mild spring temperatures that provided a nice slow start to the season. A late-season heat spike helped the berries achieve perfect ripeness which resulted in a Pinot Noir that is both concentrated and complex. The wine spent eight months in French oak, 30% new, before bottling.
From its enticing bouquet to its layers of lush, pure fruit, this wine captures the vibrant charm of great cool-climate Sonoma Pinot. On the nose, cherry, strawberry and cassis with hints of violet. The palate is soft and silky, with supple tannins accentuating the ripe berry flavours and a bright, focused finish.
