Sourced entirely from the winery’s organic and biodynamic Camp Meeting Ridge estate vineyard, fruit was hand-harvested from vines planted in 1991. These older vines have produced some of the winery’s most interesting Chardonnays to date. Given the extremes of the site, each small block ripens at its own pace.
Harvested in the foggy, cool Sonoma Coast night, fruit integrity was ensured by rigorously sorting and gently pressing the fruit as whole clusters just before sunrise. After settling, the juice was racked to French oak barrels (30% new) for primary and malolactic fermentation followed by 15 months aging on fine lees.
“Offers a refined, elegant bouquet leading to a front palate loaded with Meyer lemon, orange peel and hints of mint and pastry. The palate shows marvelous focus and precision, displaying ample citrus and pear, with a core of fine minerality and texture. This is a majestic white wine right now and will continue to offer pleasure for at least another 3-5 years.”

“Orange peel, smoke, spices, mint and apricot pit flesh out in the 2013 Chardonnay Camp Meeting Ridge Vineyard. Bold and textured in its flavors but classically mid-weight in style, the 2013 captures a hugely attractive middle ground.”
