LCBO Vintages Special Offer
The Nebbiolo grapes for this wine are sourced exclusively from the Cesare family’s own vineyards: the famous “Il Bricco” Estate and the great hill of San Stefanetto, both located in the village of Treiso. One third of the wine was aged in French oak botti and barriques (one third new) for 30 months. The remainder spent three years in large French oak casks.
A very classic Barbaresco, this is an elegant wine with ripe, spicy fruit and great depth and complexity. The gentle tannins show finesse, but make no mistake: this is a Barbaresco with structure and opulence. It shows very long ageing potential.
“Rather advanced aromas of plum, dried fruit and flowers follow through to a full-bodied palate, with firm tannins and a long finish. Pretty and structured. Best after 2009. 3,500 cases made.”
