Vignole’s Chianti Classico DOCG presents remarkable value from one of the region’s first winemaking families. Here, Sangiovese is softened by the addition of Merlot. The result is a deep red wine with a lush nose of red fruit and violets. Supple and full-bodied on the palate with well-integrated tannins, dried and preserved fruit tones are lifted by layers of wild red berries.
Hand-picked Estate-grown fruit is fermented by plot and varietal in concrete vats, macerating on skins for 15 days. Sangiovese spends 12 months in oak casks, Merlot 12 months in oak barrels. After blending, the wine lies in cellars set into the surrounding hillside for 12 months.
