A Cabernet Sauvignon worthy of those who love a glass of the stuff on its own, this warm and cozy Cab shows flavours and aromas of cedar-wrapped cherries, a dusting of smoky tobacco, and a smear of blackberry compote. All the refined dark fruit layers expected from a Cabernet Sauvignon are here. This is the seriously tasty wine we pour with a burger or crack open for a casual dinner party.
The vintage was spectacular throughout Washington, hot days, cool nights, limited rain, ripe tannins. The wine sees Cabernet Sauvignon blended with a small quantity of Merlot, sourced from Columbia Valley AVA vineyards along Wahluke Slope, the Yakima Valley, and Horse Heaven Hills. A portion comes from Walla Walla’s Waterbrook Vineyard, one of the oldest sites in the Valley. The wine fermented in stainless steel, then spent ten months in American and French oak, 35% new.
