Vina Cobos Bramare Appellation Cabernet Sauvignon Lujan de Cuyo 2016 [6/cs]

Argentina Mendoza
Cabernet and Cabernet Blends
Type: Red Table Wine
Vintage: 2016

The 2016 has yet to be reviewed by the press, but the 2015 received the following:

“(14.8% alcohol; from vines averaging 25 years of age, mostly surrounding the winery in Perdriel): Dark red-ruby. Sappy aromas of crushed blackberry, cassis, sour cherry and licorice complemented by a sexy leesy element. A very suave, sweet fruit bomb of a Cabernet, softer than the Malbec Luján de Cuyo but also showing more oak today. Offers pristine flavours of dark berries, spices and tobacco. The tannins are substantial but fine-grained, making those of the Malbec Luján de Cuyo seem dusty by comparison. Winemaker Vignoni vinifies this wine with a higher percentage of whole berries, doing what he describes as “almost partial carbonic maceration.” 2021-2027.”
