The mill that gives its name to the Borgo del Molìn was built in the 17th century by the Republic of Venice, political administrator of Conegliano at the time. The mill is one of the most important monuments that testifies to the city’s agricultural past. It is also part of Fabio Zardetto’s childhood memories, the place where he spent many an afternoon with his nonna, helping her to grind wheat and playing close to the millstream that channelled the water to the wheel.
The Zardetto Spumanti Prosecco DOCG Extra Dry Molin was created to pay homage to the local farmers of the Conegliano appellation. Using hand-picked, local Glera grapes from vineyards of Santo Stefano di Valdobbiadene and San Pietro di Feletto, this Prosecco is a great example of why Conegliano Valdobbiadene creates some of the greatest sparkling wines in the world. It’s bright straw colour and it’s creamy mousse entice the nose with hints of yellow apple, lychees and a delicate floral bouquet. The racing, fresh acidity and flavour concentration on the palate lead to a prolonged finish that makes this Prosecco the perfect drink throughout a meal or as an afternoon aperitivo.
