Gianfranco and Graziella Soldera purchased a derelict piece of hilly land in Montalcino in 1972 and quickly recognized the beauty of the locale and capacity of the soil to produce wine of quality. Two vineyards were planted to Sangiovese Grosso, Case Basse and Intistieti, approximately 6.5 hectares in total. The estate is over 23 hectares, and is an idyllic environment dedicated to a balanced ecosystem where magnificent vines grow. The wines of Soldera are among the great wines of Italy. Gianfranco Soldera one of Italy’s great wine makers.

“The Soldera Brunellos are by far the most visible, expensive and fervently collected wines of Montalcino.”
Antonio Galloni, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, June 2013
