“Evenstad” Reserve Chardonnay 2014
$94.95 per bottle, cases of 6

56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 19% Cabernet Franc

The Evenstad Reserve Chardonnay represents the art of blending select barrels from the Evenstad estate vineyard sites in the Dundee Hills. The belief is that the combination of Dijon clone vines, Jory soil and the high elevation of the Dundee Hills estates grows fruit of unparalleled quality.
Vibrant and golden in colour, the 2014 Evenstad Reserve Chardonnay offers up a complex bouquet of citrus blossoms, cardamom, and hazelnuts. As the wine spends time in the glass, aromas of citrus zest, spiced apple pie and confectionery notes unfold. On the palate the wine is pure with volume and precision, exhibiting Meyer lemon, stone fruit, and allspice with seamlessly integrated acidity that leads to a lusciously long and creamy finish.

This vintage aged for 13 months in French oak barriques, 31% of which was new.

The 2014 is new to market and not yet reviewed, but the 2013 received the following:

“A Chardonnay showing wonderful smoke, stones and daffodils on the nose and palate. Full-bodied, very bright and racy with a linear structure and a long and persistent finish. I really love the ripe, subtle fruit in combination with the tangy acidity. Drink now.”

“Evenstad Reserve” Pinot Noir 2013
$129.95 per 750 ml bottle, cases of 6
$245.95 per 1500 ml, cases of 6
$63.95 per 375 ml bottle, cases of 12

The Evenstad Reserve Pinot Noir is the flagship wine, and is the defining standard by which all of Domaine Serene’s Pinot Noirs are measured. The best barrels are selected each year to create a reserve wine that is consistent in both its superior quality, and flavour profile.
A true illustration of the art of blending, the 2013 Evenstad Reserve Pinot Noir is a wonderfully complex elegant wine with intriguing notes of black cherry, currants, cloves and nutmeg. With some air, notes of allspice, cardamom and black tea emerge from the glass with a subtle lift of cocoa powder and vanilla. In the mouth, the wine shows elegance and finesse with brooding depth and concentration, vibrant red fruits, silky tannins and great persistence.

This vintage aged for 17 months in French oak barriques, 57% of which was new.

The 2013 is new to market and not yet reviewed, but the 2012 received the following:

“This includes grapes from the winery’s Jerusalem Hill vineyard in the Eola-Amity Hills AVA, in addition to the Dundee Hills sites, hence the more general Willamette Valley designation. It was aged in 65% new French oak for 16 months. It’s open and generous, offering bright berry, cherry and red currant fruit matched to defining acids, all set in a fine-tuned frame.”

“Yamhill Cuvée”
Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2013
$75.95 per bottle, cases of 12

A premium Oregon Pinot Noir with consistency vintage to vintage due to the blending of Pinot Noir from each of the main estates. Named for the county where all of the Domaine Serene estates are found, the inaugural vintage of this blend pre-dates the designation of the Yamhill-Carlton AVA and includes grapes from the Dundee Hills and Eola-Amity AVAs.

The 2013 Yamhill Cuvée offers a true bouquet rich with aromas of Bing cherry, blackberry, and dried herbs and spices. The aromas expand out onto the mid-palate to deliver some wonderfully intense red fruits. Polished and graceful, this wine is seamlessly integrated with gentle tannins, finishing with spicy notes. The textural profile is refined, silky, elegant and incredibly pleasing for any occasion.

This 2013 is new to market and not yet reviewed, but the 2012 received the following:

“Gorgeous pinot with dried strawberry and spice character. Full body, soft tannins, and remains fresh and lively. Lovely combination of ripe fruit and acidity. Drink or hold.”
