LCBO Vintages Release
For more than three decades, Duckhorn Vineyards has been crafting exceptional Napa Valley Merlot reflecting the rich diversity of the valley’s many appellations. Drawing on the winemaking team’s expertise working with this varietal, Decoy Sonoma County Merlot is a lush and inviting wine highlighting the elegance of the varietal from another exceptional growing region.
Alluring aromas of black cherry and dark chocolate are complemented by subtle notes of savoury dried herbs and woodsmoke. Graceful and velvety, this wine glides across the palate with beautifully balanced acidity and tannins underscoring lush layers of fruit.
The 2017 has not been reviewed yet however here’s what critics had to say for the 2016 vintage:
“The Decoy label can be counted on to deliver value for your dollar, as evidenced once again by this easy to enjoy Merlot. Blackberry, black cherry, vanilla and a hint of bell pepper fill the nose and mouth and stay knit together through a lingering finish, where a bit of oak spice comes forward.”

“Cassis flavors and silken textures make this merlot an easy, everyday red. It’s smoky, with a slight vegetal, tomato-like edge to the fruit. The soft tannins place it with beef tenderloin.”
