The vineyards lie on the South-facing slopes of the unspoilt and undiscovered Paardeberg mountain, in the Western Cape wine region. Despite the warm climate, Vondeling’s wines remain vibrant thanks to the granite soil of the vineyards and the persistent afternoon South Westerly winds.
Wine has been grown on the Vondeling property for three centuries. Today, an environmentally sensitive approach to farming and minimal intervention during the winemaking process ensure wine with a distinct fingerprint of origin.
Vondeling is actively involved in preserving and protecting the natural heritage of the Paardeberg mountain as well, which is rich in indigenous and endemic species that are unique to the area. A proud member The Paardeberg Sustainability Initiative, and Conservation Champion of the WWF, Vondeling works to protect conservation-worthy land as well as reduce their water usage and implement energy-efficient solutions.
