Château de Chamirey

Burgundy

Built in early 18th century, Château de Chamirey is an elegant château inspired by Italian architecture and surrounded by French gardens. Built on a rocky headland, Château de Chamirey has a unique position on Mercurey vineyard.

The history of Château de Chamirey can be traced back to the 12th century. The vines are planted in the best terroir of Mercurey of which 6 of the larger plots are Premier Cru within the village of Mercurey itself — almost half of the village agricultural area. The vines are planted with 10,000 plants per 2.5 acres, according to Burgundy tradition. The average age of the vines is 35 years old.

The density of plants, diverse soils, and micro climates guarantee high quality wines. The Château de Chamirey reds are true indulgence, showcasing silky textures and a fruity core.

Amaury et Aurore Devillard represent the 5th generation to carry on the work of this, now 95 acre winery.
