Clos de Lôm was founded by the family’s French ancestor S. Dupuy Delôme in 1836 and remains in the family to this day. The estate is located in the municipality of Fontanars dels Alforins, in Clariano – the most southerly of the four subzones in the Valencia DO. Perhaps the most distinctive in terms of both landscape and wines, Clariano is right in the middle is the Vall d’Albaida, a fertile valley running from the arid plateau of La Mancha towards the Mediterranean, characterized by hot summers and relatively cold winters. This valley is a major grain producing area and is known to be very fertile, with one of the highest insolation levels in Valencia!
The team produces four varietal wines, focusing on local grape varieties: Malvasia, Monastrell, Tempranillo and Garnacha. They also produce a blend, Isidra, for which they select their best Garnacha and Tempranillo grapes. Both varieties are aged separately in 300L French and American oak barrels for a minimum of 12 months before the final blend is made.
