Domaine Violot-Guillemard

Burgundy

Based in the village of Pommard, Domaine Violot-Guillemard has been family-run for six generations. Now under the stewardship of Joannès Violot-Guillemard, the estate continues its long-standing commitment to sustainable viticulture and honest, terroir-driven winemaking.

Organic farming has been the foundation of the domaine’s viticulture since 1999, long before it became widespread in Burgundy. Joannès is deeply dedicated to preserving soil health and vineyard biodiversity, believing that truly great wine begins with living, balanced terroir. His vineyard work is meticulous and guided by a strong sense of responsibility to past and future generations.

In the cellar, Joannès follows in the footsteps of his father, Thierry, embracing a minimalist philosophy that lets the vineyard speak for itself. His winemaking avoids yeast inoculation, reverse osmosis, and heavy technical manipulation. New oak is used sparingly, allowing the purity of fruit and expression of terroir to shine through.

The domaine farms 15 acres of vineyards across some of the Côte de Beaune’s most celebrated appellations, including Pommard, Volnay, Meursault, Monthelie, and Beaune. In recent years, Joannès has also begun working closely with a select group of growers, applying the same rigorous standards to ensure quality and consistency across all wines bearing the domaine’s name.

The wines of Domaine Violot-Guillemard are elegant, precise, and deeply rooted in their place of origin—a quiet but powerful expression of Burgundy’s timeless appeal.
