H. Cuvelier & Fils

Bordeaux

The story of the Maison H. Cuvelier & Fils is an odyssey of a family with intuition, legacy and audacity as their core values, and above all, a love of the trade.

In 1804, Henri Cuvelier founded the négociant firm H. Cuvelier et Fils in Lille. The firm prospered throughout the 19th century, distributing French and foreign wines to enthusiasts in Northern France, Flanders and England.

To celebrate its one-hundred-year anniversary, three Cuvelier cousins acquired Château Le Crock in Saint-Estèphe, Château Moulin Riche and Second Classified Growth in 1855, Chateau Léoville Poyferré in Saint-Julien in 1920. At the same time, several family members moved to Bordeaux, where Olivier Cuvelier now manages the négociant firm, distributing Bordeaux wines across the globe.
