This flagship wine is the highest expression of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon from Brand’s estate on Pritchard Hill. Featuring the year’s best barrels, it is crafted to reflect power, opulence, and the distinctive characteristics of the vineyard. As grapes approach maturity, the Brand team monitors the vineyard blocks closely and pick only the fruit with deep flavor and ripe tannins – that fruit is destined for the estate Cabernet. After aging for 22 months in French oak, the Cabernet Sauvignon is bottled unfined and unfiltered. Overt and structured, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine is best decanted if enjoyed young. Patient cellaring will be rewarded, revealing a layered, nuanced wine with time.
“This is made up of the best barrels from the vintage and is comprised of fruit from the highest elevation at their Pritchard Hill estate. It fermented half in French oak, half in stainless steel and aged 22 months in French oak. It was bottled unfined and unfiltered. The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon (100%) is deep garnet-purple colored and bursts from the glass with ripe, expressive crème de cassis, freshly crushed black berries and plum preserves notes with touches of menthol, cinnamon stick, cedar chest and spice box. Medium-bodied, the palate has a firm, grainy texture and oodles of freshness supporting the expressive black fruit preserves, finishing on a lingering spicy note. 500 cases produced.”
