Since 1100, there have been records of inhabitants and vineyards in an area referred to as “Brigaldara” located in the foothills of Monte Masua, between San Floriano and Valgatara, in the middle of the Marano Valley. The property changed hands several times throughout the centuries until 1928 when Renzo Cesari purchased Brigaldara. His family has focused on incorporating techniques and innovating in ways that have made Brigaldara an award-winning winery. Today, Stefano Cesari and his sons Lamberto and Antonio excel in their pursuit of an authentic representation of their region and the ongoing possibilities.
The Brigaldara Soave is made from 100% Garganega. A large sparse bunch and a medium-sized berry are the typical features of this autochthonous variety of the eastern part of Verona. Through selective cryoextraction – a partial freezing of the grapes – we preserve the natural aromas and flavours of the grape and prevent oxidation, bringing in the glass all the aromatic potential of the fresh Garganega grapes.
This is a fresh and fruity wine with notes of chamomile, peach and citrus, in which acidity plays an important role. Clean, medium-long finish.
“When you taste a Soave this young there would be some conceit in making any grand statements or declarations on vintage, but Brigaldara’s garganega surely hints at 2024 quality. No doubt a classico like this is meant to be consumed young but still there needs to be some patience and reflection. Lemon dictates the flow from start to finish, from juicing and floral citrus through gelidness and finally zest. This style is purely Soave and Soave is exactly this. Classic. Drink 2025-2028. Tasted July 2025.”
