A blend from low-yielding hand-picked vines comprising 70% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre, and 10% Cinsault. Two thirds is fermented in vats, the balance in two-to four-year-old demi-muids (600 litre oak barrels native to the region).
The wine boasts a deep carmine colour and ripe red fruit aromas with a touch of mineral and vanilla. The palate is generous and full-bodied with silky tannins and an exceptionally well-integrated finish.
“Beautifully pure, with ripe red and black fruit, peppery herb, and violet notes, the 2023 Gigondas Tradition Le Grand Montmirail hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a pure, graceful mouthfeel, and a great finish.”
