Domaine Chanson is a Premier Cru specialist within Beaune, and remains one of the oldest houses in Burgundy. Chanson wines are known for their structure, elegance and age-worthiness. Since 2000 the vineyards have been farmed Organically, of which 45 acres are designated Premier and Grand Cru.
The sunny 1er Cru vineyard of Chassagne Montrachet brings a sense of opulence and fleshy minerality: pure gold in both glass and refinement. The Beaune Clos des Fèves, crafted from the Pinot Noir grape, is a charming yet serious example to the captivating reds of Burgundy, while the Gevrey Chambertin demonstrates its undeniable power and longevity in the selection.
This mixed-case has been specially curated for those who wish to explore more of this classic and celebrated terroir.
The Chanson Burgundian Gems Mixed Case includes one bottle each of the following:
Chanson Pere et Fils Chassagne Montrachet Les Chenevottes 1er Cru 2018 The Chenevottes vineyard is a step away from the Montrachet Grand Cru vineyard, with ample similarities in slope, sunshine hours and soils. This is a beautifully round and generous white burgundy that has acacia honey and opulent fruit density: trademarks of the fleshy Chardonnay grape hailing from Chassagne Montrachet.
Chanson Pere et Fils Gevrey Chambertin La Perrieres 1er Cru 2017
The Perrieres, a name bearing reference to the region’s former occupation as a quarry, has loamy topsoils and calcareous stones that help create wines that are perfumed and with increased intensity. The Pinot Noir grape of Gevrey Chambertin is known for their more tannic structure and firmer body. On the palate, black cherries are layered with sandalwood spices, black plums, mineral richness and silky tannins.
Chanson Pere et Fils Beaune Clos des Fèves 1er Cru Monopole 2020
This is an emblematic 4-hectare monopole, a vineyard which Chanson farms exclusively. The wine is defined by sweet red cherries and firm tannins, concentrated with anise, chalk, earth and sweet spices. The range of soils along the slope provides a beautiful blend of pretty violets, bold black fruit and minerality. A substantial Pinot Noir.
