The newest edition to Carter’s impressive line up, this is their first non-Cabernet Sauvignon offering that pays tribute to the great reds of Bordeaux’s right bank. It is comprised of an equal blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc from the Sugarloaf Mountain vineyard that sits over San Pablo Bay. The site is heavily influenced by the clean Bay air and showcases a vibrant profile from their cooling effects.

The Daze has a dark inky colour, matched with dark red and black fruits, vanilla, pencil lead and savoury fresh earth. The palate is full-bodied and long, supported by fine-grained tannins and an abundance of freshness.

“The 2020 ‘The Daze’ opens to inviting aromas of dark cherries, boysenberries, crushed violets, incense, and exotic spices all taking shape. The palate is medium to full bodied and nicely balanced and structured with a wonderful combination of fruit and acidity. It goes on to display flavours of boysenberries, incense and tobacco leaf with wonderful concentration and a lovely sense of freshness though the finish. Composed of 50% Merlot, 50% Cabernet Franc.”
