In the heart of the Premier Cru vineyards of Domaine Chanson, this plot covers 4 hectares in the center of the Beaune territory. The grapes are whole bunch fermentation for approximately two weeks, then aged in Chanson’s 15th century cellar for a period between 14 and 18 months. Moderate use of new oak.
Bright ruby in colour. Intense aromas of ripe red berries mixed with fragrances of violet and spicy notes. Brisk, complex and deep with a tight texture. Long and spicy finish. Enjoy with red or white meat, “Boeuf Bourguignon” or a variety of regional cheeses, in particular goat’s cheese and Citeaux.
“Four hectares owned by Chanson here. Bright and fruit driven, and also quite pretty. This has lovely focused cherry and berry fruit, with nice acidity. Rounded, supple and appealing.” 93 points, Wine Anorak, December 2021
“The 2020 Beaune Teurons 1er Cru is slightly higher-toned than other cuvées with touches of blue fruit permeating the red fruit, pressed violets plus a splash of iodine. The palate is rounded on the entry, quite pliant and fleshy, the richness counterbalanced by a fine thread of acidity. It just needs more definition and elegance on the finish.” 88-90 points, Neal Martin, Vinous Media, December 2021
