The Côte de Beaune offers a unique balance of terroir, drainage, climate and low yields leading to intense and complex wines. One of the most famous grand cru sites in this region is Le Montrachet.
These wines have intensity of fruit, minerality and delicate flavours from oak barrel fermentation and aging.
“A vivid streak of ripe lemon on the nose of this wine promises freshness. The mellow, creamy body with its smooth concentration still harbors a little flinty reduction, but also has that gentle aromatic lemon streak, lending shape to the smooth and textured palate. This is elegant and vivid.” 93 points, Anne Krebiehl MW, Winemag.com, August 2020
“A more complex nose is composed by notes of petrol, resin, apple, citrus and a subtle hint of wood. The sleek but solidly concentrated middle weight plus flavours brim with sappy dry extract that coats the palate on the energetic, persistent and dry finish that displays fine depth. This very dry yet seductive effort isn’t particularly refined but it’s certainly impressive plus it’s sufficiently tightly wound that it should reward up to a decade of cellaring.” 92 points, Burghound, June 2020
“Attractive almond, hay and cooked apple with some stone undertones. Full-bodied and layered with attractive phenolic tension and dried fruit. Drink or hold.” 92 points, James Suckling, November 2020
