Château Siran is one of the historic estates of Margaux, with roots in the appellation stretching back several centuries. The property is guided by a long-standing commitment to precision, balance, and sustainable viticulture. Its vineyards sit on gently elevated gravel mounds formed from ancient alluvial deposits, where fine siliceous gravels provide excellent drainage and heat retention, shaping the refined and aromatic character typical of Margaux.
The wine is built on a classic Left Bank blend led by Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with Petit Verdot adding structure and aromatic lift. Sustainable farming, meticulous parcel-by-parcel selection, and careful extraction define the winemaking, followed by aging in French oak barrels, a portion of which are new. Aromas of black cherry, cassis, and violets emerge alongside notes of cedar, graphite, and subtle spice. The palate is supple yet structured, with silky tannins, fresh acidity, and a long, harmonious finish that balances fruit, florality, and savoury depth.
Château Siran pairs beautifully with elegant, flavour-driven dishes. Serve it alongside roast lamb, duck breast, or beef tenderloin, or with mushroom-based dishes and truffle-accented preparations. It also complements aged cheeses such as Comté or a well-aged Gouda, making it a versatile and classic Margaux at the table.
“Blackberries, mushrooms and flowers on the nose. Full-bodied with a very compact palate that shows creamy and refined tannins that are strong and driven. Some tar and wet earth at the end. Needs three or four years to come together. Best after 2025.”

“Deep dark ruby, purple reflections, delicate bright rim. Fine dark forest berry fruit, a hint of figs and cherries, candied orange zest. Juicy, elegant, mineral texture, ripe cherries, integrated tannins, chocolatey finish.”
