This wine offers a great opportunity to discover the difference a regional appellation can make when it comes to enjoying Bordeaux. Établissements Jean-Pierre Moueix has specialized in the fine wines of Saint Émilion since 1937, and today owns and distributes a number of the region’s notable Châteaux. For 80 years, they have been committed to sourcing the best fruit from local growers to produce wines that are elegant, balanced, and reflective of the distinctive terroir of this renowned region.

Famed for the quality of its wines since the 1st century, Saint Émilion is one of France’s oldest and most highly regarded winemaking regions. The distinct elegance and complexity of the wines produced there is in large part due to the appellation’s clay and limestone soils: the limestone provides elegance, structure, and mineralogy, while the clay brings depth, richness, and generosity.

Personally selected by Christian and Edouard Moueix, this wine is composed primarily of Merlot with a touch of Cabernet Franc. The wine was blended and aged in the historic Quai de Priourat cellars in Libourne, benefitting from the care and expertise of the Jean-Pierre Moueix technical teams.

The region’s unique soil structure and microclimate are expressed in the finished wine’s textural finesse and aromatic complexity. Vibrant ruby red, the intense, complex nose presents notes of cherry, strawberry, and light tobacco. The palate is powerful and inviting with smooth, silky tannins. A very satisfying expression of Merlot.
