Owned by the Cuvelier family of Léoville-Poyferré in St-Julien, Cuvelier Los Andes vineyards have found a special place in the rocky, sandy terrain of the Uco Valley, south of Mendoza in western Argentina. This prominent wine-growing region takes advantage of the warm, dry climate and the cold nights, typical of the Andes foothills.
Cuvelier Los Andes Uco Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has a ruby red colour and ripe fruit aromas of raspberry and red currant with baking spice and a touch of mocha. On the palate, the ripe fruit flavours come through with a full-bodied balance of acidity and tannins.
This is a powerfully fresh wine with good length that can be enjoyed now or cellared for a few more years.
“Expressive and characterful nose of blackcurrants, olives, wet earth and aniseed. It’s full-bodied, firm and savory, with medium-chewy tannins. Try from 2025.”
92 points, James Suckling
