Domaine Leflaive is renowned for excellence in crafting wines from Chardonnay that express the purest essence of each terroir. Fruit for this wine fruit is grows below the Roche de Solutré, upon a precocious terroir. The soil is shallow; the gentle slope faces due south. The vines have been cultivated biodynamically since their purchase in early 2004. The harvest is entirely manual with the grapes transported daily to Puligny-Montrachet for fermentation and ageing, under the watchful eye of Domaine Leflaive’s technical team. Vinification occurs in stainless vats, and ageing lasts from 15 to 16 months.
This wine presents a floral bouquet, offering aromas of white flowers, jasmine, and a subtle touch of oak. On the palate, it is silky in texture with a chalky finesse and a sense of drive, yet remains delicate throughout. The ripe acidity contributes to its graceful structure. A highly sophisticated wine, it reveals an inner richness and persistence, with a fullness that imparts a slightly sweet impression.
A beautiful match for dishes like seared scallops, roast chicken, creamy pastas, or aged alpine cheeses.
