In 2010, Patrick and Olivier Leflaive launched the ‘Récolte du Domaine’ wines, a treasured arm of an already prestigious collection of wines of Maison Olivier Leflaive. The wines from Récolte are sourced from the original vineyards of Domaine Leflaive, reclaimed after a longstanding lease had come to an end of their once shared space. The meticulous care of the original biodynamic vineyard practices continued uninterrupted when these vineyards were returned to the Maison, complete with old-vines whose low yields allow for incredibly concentrated, perfumed wines to emerge. Burgundy insiders know that these can be the source of incredibly focused Burgundy wines that rival the famed houses, at a charming price.

The Batard Montrachet Grand Cru ‘Recolte du Domaine’ 2022 is a wine of great presence with ripe and floral aromas. The mouth is supple with a mineral freshness and offers a lengthy finish. Ideal food pairings include rich flavours such as foie gras, lobster or golden sweetbreads served with a buttery and creamy sauce.

The Bâtard remains relatively poised and fresh on the palate but with all the fruit intensity one would hope for. The poise is more important than the intensity chez Olivier Leflaive Frères.
