The Nebbiolo grapes for this wine are sourced exclusively from the Cesare family’s own vineyards: the famous “Il Bricco” Estate and the great hill of San Stefanetto, both located in the village of Treiso. One third of the wine was aged in French oak botti and barriques (one third new) for 30 months. The remainder spent three years in large French oak casks.
A very classic Barbaresco, this is an elegant wine with ripe, spicy fruit and great depth and complexity. The gentle tannins show finesse, but make no mistake: this is a Barbaresco with structure and opulence. It shows very long ageing potential.
“Aromas of dried orange, berry and hazelnut with hints of dried flowers. Tar, too. Full-bodied with chewy tannins and a juicy finish. The tannins are very fine and integrated. Chewy and encompassing flow across the palate. Very structured. Try after 2024.”
