Tenuta di Collosorbo

Tenuta di Collosorbo, founded by Giovanna Ciacci in 1995, was part of the Tenuta di Sesta estate. Tenuta di Sesta has existed since 1850. It was one of the first estates to produce Brunello when DOC Brunello di Montalcino was created in 1966.

The Brunello di Montalcino is developed starting with the meticulous selection of Sangiovese grapes from the estate’s best vineyards. From start to finish, the process is led by Laura Ciacci, the viticulturalist and her sister Lucia, the agronomist. This Brunello is the product of diligent and thorough fieldwork and of focused operations in the wine cellar prioritizing the preservation of the essence of the Sangiovese grape. This is an expressive Brunello showing freshness, balance and power. It’s made to age.

“The 2018 Brunello di Montalcino impresses with a rich mix of crushed cherries and plums complemented by hints of clove and dried roses. This is soft-textured and potent, with a sweet and-sour interplay of tart wild berries and spice enlivened by bright acidity. It tapers off with dusty tannins, yet only lightly structured, leaving hints of salted licorice and red currants to linger.”

“Slightly reductive in the main profile it alternates notes of red plums, dates, sautéed mushrooms and wet earth. Medium-full body, very soft tannins and a juicy and harmonious finish. Best since 2023.”
