Tenute Orestiadi is the name of a very young and dynamic Sicilian winery, born a few years ago from the efforts of many vinegrowers in the area of Gibellina and the Orestiadi Foundation. The name originates from the ancient tale of Aeschylus who wrote Orestiadi, the mythical adventures of Oreste. The production philosophy of Tenute Orestiadi is aimed at the production of modern Sicilian wines closely linked to the territory and to the Sicilian oenological tradition.
Tenute Orestiadi Catarratto DOC Sicilia is 100% Catarratto. The native Sicilian white variety is planted on white soil, typical of Belice Valley, at 350-500 metres above sea level. High limestone and gypsum components help water retention in the dry microclimate. The wine is aged three months in steel tanks and at least four months in bottle prior to release.
To the nose, the Catarratto shows a refined bouquet of white fruit, peach, almond and orange blossom. On the palate, it is fresh, soft and elegant.
