Zardetto’s vineyards are located on the steep slopes of the eastern part of Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG, close to the villages of Feletto, Ogliano, and Carpesica. Forty years ago, winery founder Pino Zardetto christened the first wine he produced “Refosso”. The name refers to the moat that surrounds the 14th century city of Conegliano, an homage to his city, but also to the water, a fundamental part of life and community. The Conegliano’s refosso was important to the local people and culture, just like the region’s renowned Prosecco.
Zardetto’s Glera (the signature prosecco varietal) is hand-harvested in early September. The finished wine is a celebration of the hilly Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG, vital and energetic. On the nose, you’ll find rich citrus, fresh herbs, and a unique wild strawberry aroma with pleasant notes of toasted bread. On the palate, this prosecco shows great energy. Broad, fruity, and well-balanced, the style is complete, clean, persistent, and delicious.
