LCBO Vintages Release
Duckhorn’s Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc paints a picture of New World Sauvignon Blanc that departs from the well-known New Zealand style. Whereas New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs revel in green layers of citrus fruit, tart gooseberry, and vegetal flavours, Duckhorn’s offering is distinctly ripe, tropical, and creamy-textured.
This elegant wine combines 79% Sauvignon Blanc with a generous dose of 21% Sémillon harvested from the winery’s estate Napa Valley vineyards. A portion of the wine was barrel-fermented in French oak which, in addition to the inclusion of Sémillon, adds depth and complexity to the aroma, palate, and mouthfeel. The finished wine matured on fine lees prior to bottling. You’ll find aromas of ripe passion fruit, papaya and ginger, with lovely Sémillon-driven silkiness on the palate. Vibrant citrus and tropical fruit are undeniably crisp and refreshing through the long finish.
“Fragrant and succulent, with melon, lime and passion fruit flavors accented by spice and orange sherbet hints. Features a smooth, supple frame and juicy accents. Drink now.”

“The 2015 Sauvignon Blanc is a blend of 79% Sauvignon Blanc and 21% Semillon. It offers attractive notes of melon, fig and caramelized citrus, and has a texture more akin to Chardonnay than Sauvignon. It also has a very long finish. This is a top flight Sauvignon Blanc to drink over the next several years.”
