Domaine Lucien Boillot

Burgundy

Domaine Lucien Boillot et Fils is a singular estate with the rare distinction of producing exceptional wines from both the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits. With vineyards stretching across some of the most hallowed villages of Burgundy—including Volnay, Pommard, Gevrey-Chambertin, and Nuits-Saint-Georges—the domaine represents a deep and multi-generational connection to Burgundy’s finest terroirs.

The estate is now fully under the direction of Pierre Boillot, who inherited old vines from his father Lucien Boillot and great-grandfather Henri Boillot. Pierre has brought renewed focus to the domaine, revitalizing the soils and implementing thoughtful, low-intervention practices that emphasize purity and site expression. While the name of his father remains on the label, the vision and precision behind the wines are now distinctly Pierre’s.

With cellars still based in Gevrey-Chambertin, Domaine Lucien Boillot et Fils has quietly built a reputation for producing wines of remarkable clarity and elegance. The vineyards include lesser-known but historically revered sites such as Volnay Les Angles—a premier cru once ranked among the top in the 19th century—and Pommard Croix Noires, just beneath the famed Rugiens. In Gevrey-Chambertin, holdings in Cherbaudes and Corbeaux sit beside grand crus like Chapelle- and Mazis-Chambertin, showcasing the enviable positioning of the domaine’s parcels.

The wines are classical in style, marked by finesse, balance, and a deep sense of place. Pierre’s winemaking aims to reveal rather than obscure, resulting in reds that are transparent and terroir-driven, yet never lacking in richness or sensual appeal. Domaine Lucien Boillot et Fils remains a quiet Burgundy gem—resolutely traditional, thoughtfully farmed, and deeply rooted in the region’s legacy.
