Domaine Pertuisane

After getting married in 2002, Richard and Sarah Case left England to head to Spain in search of old vine Grenache, hoping to start their own domaine. A chance visit to Maury in late 2002 changed their plans permanently.

Completely taken by the stunning landscape of the surrounding Pyrennées, incredible terroir and huge potential of the local vineyards, Richard and Sarah staked their future on what became Domaine de la Pertuisane. The efforts have paid off in both respect and accolades!

In 2008, Dave Phinney, of Orin Swift fame, connected with the pair in a Maury Café. Impressed by their knowledge of the region and the potential for amazing Grenache, he invited them to join in setting up & running the Department 66 Winery. Today, it is one of the most highly regarded and highly accoladed wine stories in southern France producing the Grenache based blends “Others”, “D66” and “Pharaon.”
