Ridgeview

Ridgeview was founded in 1994 by Mike and Chris Roberts and is dedicated to creating world class sparkling wines in the South Downs of England. The vineyards specialize in growing classic Burgundian grape varieties to make the highest quality bottle fermented sparkling wines. The status of these wines is reflected by the national and international medals and trophies they have received since the release of the first wines from the 1996 vintage.

The family’s second generation has established in key roles at Ridgeview and continue to expand the business. Their dedication, passion and determination have contributed to the international reputation and popularity now attributed to English sparkling wine. This passion and determination is shared by a great team of dedicated staff who are fundamental to the winery’s continuing success.

Those in the know weren’t surprised when Ridgeview was crowned one of the best vineyards in the world in July 2019. It placed number 36 of the “World’s Top 50 Best Vineyards” at the Banqueting House on Whitehall. The World’s Best Vineyards Academy is the body that compiles The World’s Best Vineyards list. The Academy comprises nearly 500 leading wine aficionados, sommeliers, and luxury travel correspondents from across the globe. Each is selected for their expert opinion on the international wine and wine tourism scene. Ridgeview was the only British vineyard to appear on a list spanning six continents.

Pioneers of the English wine industry, Ridgeview continue to blaze the trail for sustainable winemaking as it has achieved B Corp accreditation in 2022, joining a global community of purpose-driven businesses. Following a rigorous application process, the Estate has proven to have some of the highest social and environmental standards, with a commitment to ambitious sustainability goals for the future. B Corp is underpinned by a philosophy of balancing people, planet and profit, using business as a force for good.
