Tenute Falezza is a family-owned and operated estate winery founded in 1974. Since then, the family estate has expanded to include 12 hectares of land in the area of San Felice, to the north-east of Verona. The Falezza family work together to produce their award-winning wines, guided by the values handed down by their grandfather: tradition, passion, and innovation.
A great wine, rediscovered by wine lovers who enjoy “old innovations”. Its peculiarity is to have the characteristics of the best Valpolicella, complemented by a “repassing” fermentation with the pomace of skins and seeds of grapes that are left from the fermentation of Amarone and/or Recioto. There’s harmony between its bouquet and its full yet balanced body.
Part “round and fruity” like Valpolicella, part “deep, dry and bold” like Amarone – Ripasso is the liaison of both styles. The winemakers “re-pass” (re-ferment) fresh Valpolicella wine on the cap of skins pressed for Amarone. As a result the wine picks up additional complexities of flavour and body, and yet stands in a class of its own. Falezza’s Ripasso is an excellent “everyday” wine and is also wonderful at the dinner table.
The Falezza Ripasso is a dry wine infused with sweet, ripe, plummy tannins, aromas of a rich sour-cherry compote, fresh tobacco and dark chocolate.
