O’Shaughnessy’s 2015 Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon is a gorgeous and multilayered wine that showcases the complexity of all seven of the Bordeaux varietals that they farm. The wine is dark ruby red with aromas of raspberries, currants, ripe plum, and a bit of smoke. Focused flavours of wild cherry jam, plum butter, and raspberry preserves are followed by a long finish with integrated acidity and complex palate-filling tannins. Muscular, but with restrained elegance, this wine carries the O’Shaughnessy trademark of balance and power.
“Deep garnet-purple coloured, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain is redolent of warm blackberries and black cherries with hints of Indian spices, fertile soil, cedar and hoisin. Big, full-bodied and voluptuous in the mouth, the concentrated, multilayered fruit is well framed by firm, grainy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing long and spicy.”

“The 2015 Howell Mountain Caberent Sauvignon is a dark, inky wine, which instantly begins with a seductive aromatic profile of ripe blackberries and blueberries along with loam, spices, spring floral, pencil shavings and mountain herbs which all soar from the glass. On the palate this deep, intense Cabernet possesses a full body which is nicely structured and driven by a core of beautifully ripened sweet dark fruits which join with spices and loamy notes to envelope the palate. Everything comes together beautifully on the long, multidimensional finish. While this flat-out delicious today, it also has the makeup to age remarkably well for many years.”
