Founded in 1981, Bodegas Granbazán is a cornerstone of Albariño production in Rías Baixas, located in the coastal Salnés Valley of Galicia. The estate was among the first to champion high-quality, estate-bottled Albariño, combining traditional pergola-trained vineyards with modern, detail-focused winemaking. With vines just a kilometre from the Atlantic, the winery’s maritime-influenced terroir yields wines with precision, salinity, and expressive aromatics.
Etiqueta Ámbar is made entirely from estate-grown Albariño sourced from the warmest plots of the Finca Tremoedo vineyard, where 35-year-old vines grow in sandy, granitic soils. Grapes are hand-harvested in small crates, gently pressed for free-run juice, and given 12 hours of skin contact before native yeast fermentation in stainless steel. The wine then spends 8 months on fine lees, building texture and depth. The result is a ripe, complex Albariño with aromas of tropical fruit, white peach, and citrus zest. On the palate, it’s creamy yet focused, with vibrant acidity, stony minerality, and a signature saline finish that reflects its ocean-kissed origin.
This wine shines alongside richer seafood dishes like grilled octopus, crab cakes, or butter-poached lobster. Its weight and texture also make it a natural match for saffron risotto, roasted chicken, or a cheese board featuring aged Manchego and Spanish blue cheeses like Cabrales.
