From Denuzière’s own 1.2ha vineyard on the hill of Sauman. The vines are between 20 and 32 years old and grow in granitic soil with southeast exposure. Ripe, robust blackberry and plum are edged by hints of candied violets, garrigue and tobacco box in this powerfully concentrated Syrah.

“The 2022 Cornas J. Denuzière is beautiful, with a lifted, floral nose of cassis and candied cherries as well as flowery incense, orange blossom, and violets, and it shows a slightly more gamey profile with air. Medium to full-bodied, fresh, and focused on the palate, it has ripe, polished tannins and a good spine of acidity. It’s going to round into form with just 2-3 years of bottle age and evolve nicely over the following decade.”
