Red Table Wine
The Sonoma Coast appellation overlaps with the Russian River Valley in many places – both are shaped by the ocean. Local geology can be complex, a result of being located at the intersection of two tectonic plates. For this wine, Kosta Browne specifically chooses fruit from vineyards directly influenced by the Pacific Ocean for a perspective that is distinctly Sonoma Coast.
Traditional and non-traditional techniques are used to make a consistently precise and textural wine: Fermented in stainless steel and concrete, then matured in new and old French oak and concrete.
Thanks to cooler sites and long hang time on the vine, you can expect a Pinot with beautifully developed velvety tannins and a dark, rich fruit profile. Notes of blackberry and raspberry with great depth and a long finish.
“The 2021 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast is floral with perfume and ripe red berries, as well as notes of framboise, rosemary, and incense. Offering fantastic balance, with fine tannins, fresh seamless acidity, and a good purity of fruit, this is a very attractive wine now and will continue to provide prime drinking over the next 12 or more years.”

“The 2021 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast was matured in 39% new oak for 15 months. The nose opens slowly from allspice and brown sugar to a core of red cherry and cranberry, tea leaves and lavender. The medium-bodied palate offers surprisingly concentrated fruit supported by grainy tannins and seamless freshness, and it has a long, spicy finish.”
