Lis Neris

Picol is a prestigious and captivating white wine crafted by the renowned Lis Neris winery in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, northeastern Italy. With a commitment to producing exceptional wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region, Lis Neris has established a reputation for excellence.

Made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc, the wine is fermented in steel tanks for 11 months with frequent bâtonnage. Bottling and aging in the bottle is done for a minimum of 12 months.

Picol entices with a bouquet of ripe orchard fruits like pear, apple, and white peach, complemented by delicate floral undertones. Its vibrant acidity enlivens the palate, intensifying the flavours of succulent pear, crisp apple, and tropical nuances. Harmoniously intertwined with herbal and grassy notes, it offers depth and a silky texture for a delightful experience.

“Intense straw yellow colour with a green hue. Aromatic nose, lots of gooseberry and nettle, some passion fruit in the background. Straightforward and precise on the palate, animating, mouthwatering, delicate texture, persistent, salty finish.”
92 points, Othmar Kiem & Simon Staffler, Falstaff, October 2023

“Spicy and wicked fresh, the 2021 Sauvignon Blanc Picol bursts from the glass with masses of nectarine, rosemary and sage, offset by candied lime. This is packed full of zesty tension with sharp yellow citrus and salty mineral tones that pepper the senses. Its brilliant acidity is the show’s real highlight, as the Picol tapers off long and potent with a mix of sour lemon and young kiwi begs the taster back to the glass.”
91 points, Eric Guido, Vinous Media, October 2023

“Cooked lemons, savory herbs, pepper and hints of flinty minerality on the nose. Medium-bodied, juicy and citrusy with vivid acidity and a flavorful finish. Drink now.”
90 points, James Suckling, October 2023
