“Les Crestes” is a fresh, fruity, and expressive blend of 80% 20-year-old Red Grenache, 10% old-vine Carignane, and 10% Syrah. All culled from the steep, licorella soil vineyards. Fruit was hand-picked in small crates, then sorted twice at the winery and vinified by vineyard parcel. The wine aged nine months in fine-grain second-fill French oak barrels. It was bottled unfined and unfiltered.

This is a great introduction to Mas Doix, produced with the same meticulous care in the vineyard and winery as for their top offerings.

“The red 2022 Les Crestes has a more commercial approach, with some creamy notes from the élevage and the warmth of the vintage. It matured in a combination of oak foudres, concrete eggs and used barriques for four to six months. It’s a blend of 80% Garnacha and 10% each Cariñena and Syrah from llicorella slate and clay and limestone soils with good ripeness and a Mediterranean profile of aromatic herbs. It has 14.5% alcohol and a juicy palate with very good freshness and very supple flavors of ripe berries and dark spices. 50,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in June 2023.”

“80% Garnacha, 10% Carinyena, 10% Syrah, mostly from steep, llicorella based vineyards. Ripe, well balanced and subtly complex, with earthy red fruits, crushed rocks, black pepper and undergrowth. Soft and friendly with a touch of fruit sweetness on the palate. 2024-2032.”
