Despite the appellation being better known for muscular Pinot Noir, you’ll be immediately impressed by its perfume, fruit, freshness, and drinkability.
Expect additional pleasure from the 1er Cru “Epenots,” with enough delicacy and aromas to enjoy now, combined with the structure to age gracefully. With flavours of blackberry, blueberry, pepper, red flowers, and earth, it is a complex and delicious Pinot Noir to be enjoyed over the next eight years.
“Medium depth of colour, pretty red fruit that is already starting to open out. Quite a wealth behind, the structure being provided more by acidity than tannin, promising. Still needs time for the full personality to emerge, I feel. Definitely Pommard in style though, and very persistent. Bottled with a DIAM 5 closure.”
