The Produttori co-operative manages some 250 acres of premium Nebbiolo estate owned vineyards in Barbaresco. With complete dedication, each of the fifty families is in full control of and intimately cares for and maintains their land, growing Nebbiolo grapes with centuries-old skill.
The winery produces their Nebbiolo Langhe DOC annually, blending grapes harvested from the younger vineyards within the region. It’s suited for earlier consumption and a great introduction to the Nebbiolo grape. The majority of vines grow in limestone and clay, rich in calcium with sandy veins. The Langhe is fermented in concrete wine tanks including 20 days on the skins followed by five months in oak before bottling.
This medium bodied wine combines ripe red fruit with notes of white pepper and anise.
“The 2022 Langhe Nebbiolo was bottled last September and a pours a deep, clear ruby color. Bright and lifted, with a lot of spice character, it offers notes of ripe raspberries, cinnamon, fresh mint, and pressed flowers, while the palate has an approachable and ripe feel that remains fresh. Made from all Barbaresco fruit, it’s ripe and has a good, plush texture, bright acidity, and a hint of warmth. This is a serious Langhe Nebbiolo with a lot of character to drink over the next 5-6 years. 10,000 cases were produced, which is about 25% of their production.”
