Quintodecimo

Quintodecimo is one of Campania’s most respected modern estates, founded in 2001 by acclaimed oenologist Luigi Moio and Laura Di Marzio in Mirabella Eclano, in the heart of Irpinia. The winery’s name refers to the ancient term Quintum Decimum, a historic reference to the area’s position fifteen miles from Benevento, linking the estate closely to the deep history of its land. Today, Quintodecimo is known for precision farming, low-intervention vineyard work, and wines that combine scientific rigour with a profound sense of place.

Giallo d’Arles is one of Campania’s most expressive and serious interpretations of Greco di Tufo, a historic white grape prized for its structure, minerality, and age-worthy depth. The name “Giallo d’Arles” is inspired by the luminous yellow tones in the paintings of Vincent van Gogh during his time in Arles, a fitting reference for a wine known for its golden colour, energy, and radiant Mediterranean character.

In the glass, it offers aromas of ripe yellow apple, pear, apricot, lemon peel, wild herbs, almond, and crushed stone. The palate is full and structured for a white wine, with beautiful tension between ripe orchard fruit, savoury minerality, and a slightly nutty, saline finish.

This is a superb choice for lovers of textured, mineral-driven whites. Pair it with grilled prawns, lobster, scallops, roasted poultry, creamy risotto, aged cheeses, or richer seafood dishes with butter, herbs, and citrus.
