As the most northeastern vineyard in the Carneros region, Truchard is situated in the foothills of what becomes the Mayacamas range and Mount Veeder. This location is a pocket of warmth in the otherwise relatively cool southern Napa Valley AVA. The vines planted here are in their prime. Twenty to 40 years-old, they benefit from gently rolling terrain and ancient mineral-rich alluvial soil.
The Pinot Noir vineyards in Napa are planted to mostly Swan, Pommard, and Martini clone with each providing characteristics that complement the other. Driven mostly by dark fruits with black cherry, pomegranate, tea, and red apple skins. Silky smooth in the mouth with woodsy vanilla notes, fine tannins, and a lifted cool climate acidity.
“Flavors of cranberry, pomegranate, dried orange peel and a zestful sprinkle of warming spices bring intrigue, nuance and lift to this refreshing wine. The tannins are fine, but persistent. This wine will work well with food while also being highly drinkable on its own.”

“Dark cherries, red plums, cinnamon and hints of sandalwood on the nose. Medium-bodied with a polished texture and a fruit-forward, spicy aftertaste. Round and textural. Drink now.”
